Music is Therapy to me. Some nights, I just let Pandora play random songs to vibe to. I grew up on the sounds of Al Green and Tyrone Davis. Looking back music has helped me face some challenges in life and overcome them. A couple therapists use music to reach their patients. Music therapy helps with various diseases such as Parkinson’s, and also helps to decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. Music can also help ignite creativity, improve communication, and helps your body relax. While in undergrad, I started listening to music while I was studying or writing a paper. I can’t tell you how many nights, I stayed up in the wee hours of the nights writing and listening to the Fugees album The Score. Think about how music influences you on an everyday basis. From the television commercials, the ride home from work, to fixing up a romantic mood for your significant other. Music is everywhere!! In today’s society, music is easy a access to streaming apps such as Tidal, Spotify, Pandora, Iheartmusic, Apple Tunes and the list goes on.
The following is a list of songs I have grown to love. Each song has a representation of a time in my in my life which I turned to music. Some of these are kept on my favorite musical track playlist. None of these are in a particular order. Your list will be very different than mine. I’ll be 34 this year, so I added my list of 34 tracks. This was very hard to narrow down to just 34, I could have gone on and on.
